Aspin Kemp & Associates Inc. (AKA) has been selected by the Canadian Coast Guard to act as Single System Integrator for the diesel electric propulsion system of a new Near Shore Fisheries Research Vessel (NSFRV), the first battery hybrid vessel to join the fleet. The propulsion design will be integrated in the overall design of the new NSFRV by Robert Allan Ltd.
The new vessel will be used to support fishery research by Fisheries & Oceans Canada and operated by the Canadian Coast Guard.
Counting over 90 years of total vessel running time with battery-hybrid propulsions and a continual stream of innovative power equipment deliveries around the world, AKA is honored to have been selected by the Canadian Coast Guard.
“This role as propulsion SSI allows us to maximize the positive impact we can have in terms of the three pillars upon which AKA was founded: reliability, fuel efficiency and reduced carbon footprint,” said Jason Aspin – CEO and founder of Aspin Kemp & Associates.
