Aspin Kemp & Associates Inc. (AKA) has secured a contract from China’s Wuhu Shipyard to supply the DC-Link system including shaft generators and batteries for McAsphalt Marine Transportation’s new green vessel delivering in Q3 2023.
With an overall length of 140 meters, molded width of 23.75 meters and depth of 11.7 meters, the vessel will be used to support the company’s asphalt trades throughout the Canadian Great Lakes, St Lawrence and Atlantic coastal regions. The DC-Link system with batteries will allow to reduce fuel consumption, reduce emissions and allow for excellent reliability.
