AKA is committed to the continuous development of industry-leading sustainability strategies and makes every effort to align its environmental stewardship and social responsibility efforts with its business objectives.
MARINE
AKA’s systems for the offshore drilling industry are designed to increase reliability while reducing the risk of negative environmental impact. In collaboration with Foss Maritime [https://www.foss.com], AKA designed and built the propulsion system for the world’s first hybrid tugboat. AKA has also developed a solid state generator; a power delivery system with proven fuel savings of over 50%, helping in reducing both emissions and costs.
ONSHORE
The AKA micro-grid allows for AKA facilities to be powered by multiple renewable sources. These sources include wind, hydro and solar photovoltaic resources. These solutions, allow AKA’s energy system to deliver consistent and clean AC power with reduced diesel consumption and emissions. By harnessing, storing, and controlling the output of renewable energy, AKA’s micro-grid is designed to reduce its Pooles Corner location’s monthly kWh rate, mediate consumption spikes, and increase fuel efficiency.
